Clarinaze nasal spray

Mometasone works by reducing inflammation in the nasal passages, the root cause of hay fever, and other airborne allergy symptoms. It does this because mometasone is a manufactured version of a corticosteroid, a hormone that is produced naturally in our bodies. By having the same structure as corticosteroids in our bodies, it causes the same effect, in this case reducing inflammation.

Initially, you should use two sprays into each nostril once a day. You can try reducing the dose to one spray into each nostril once a day when your symptoms are under control. Try to use the lowest dose possible to control your symptoms. It is best to use the medicine daily to stop your symptoms before they occur.

You should speak with your doctor before using the medicine for longer than 3 months or if your symptoms do not start to improve after 14 days of use.

Do not use Clarinaze if you are allergic to mometasone or another ingredient listed in the medicine. Unless prescribed by a doctor, anyone under 18 should not use Clarinaze.

Speak with your doctor or pharmacist before using Clarinaze if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a weakened immune system, have or have previously had tuberculosis, have any other infection, have cystic fibrosis, or have any problems with your nose, such as an injury, infection, ulcers, or recent surgery.

Mometasone can interact with other medications, such as some HIV medications and other corticosteroids. If you take any prescription, over-the-counter or herbal medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist to check they are safe to take alongside Clarinaze.

As with all medications, some people may experience side effects. Some common ones can include nose bleeds, headache, sneezing, respiratory infections, and soreness in your nose or throat. Seek urgent medical advice if you develop any problems with your eyes, such as blurred vision, cloudy vision, eye pain, or loss of vision. You should speak with your doctor or pharmacist if you are concerned about any side effects.
