Can I Take Beechams With Food and Drink?

Yes, you may take the caplets either with or without food. However, do not take other sources of caffeine like tea, coffee, energy drinks, or chocolate while taking this medicine. Too much caffeine can cause jitteriness or interfere with sleep.

Also, do not consume alcohol while taking this drug because it tends to enhance the likelihood of liver damage when used together with paracetamol.

When Do You See a Doctor or Stop Taking It?

Stop taking caplets and see a doctor or pharmacist if:

Your symptoms last more than 7 days

You experience rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing (probable allergic reactions)

You have unusual tiredness, yellow skin or eyes, or dark-coloured urine (possible signs of liver issues)

Always see a doctor before taking treatment for more than a week.

FAQs Answered by Pharmacists

Can I take Beechams for COVID-19 symptoms?

Beechams can help to ease symptoms like headache & fever but is not a cure for COVID-19. If you think you have COVID-19, stay in line with NHS guidance and have a test if you need one.

Can I drive or work while taking this medicine?

Most people may go about everyday activities, but some may feel light-headed or dizzy. If this happens, do not drive or use tools or machinery until you have recovered.

Can I take Beechams with antibiotics or antihistamines?

Always ask your pharmacist first. Although it should be OK with some antibiotics if you take other cold remedies or antihistamines simultaneously, the chances of side effects could be higher, or you'll be doubling up on the ingredients.
