Strefen Lozenges

Strefen lozenges are specifically designed to alleviate inflammation in the mouth and throat. They offer valuable assistance to individuals suffering from conditions such as tonsillitis or a sore throat caused by various factors. Moreover, these lozenges are suitable for individuals experiencing mouth ulcers, post-dental surgery pain, and radiation mucositis. Radiation mucositis refers to the painful inflammation and ulceration of the mouth and gums' mucous membranes resulting from chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment.

Strefen lozenges belong to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) family, akin to Aspirin and Ibuprofen. The lozenges unlike other lozengers (like Strepsils) effectively target inflammation by impeding the body's production of a substance known as "prostaglandins." Prostaglandins are released in response to illness or injury and can induce pain and inflammation in the throat, thereby signaling the presence of illness. Furthermore, Strefen lozenges possess biocidal properties, enabling them to combat microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. This characteristic empowers the lozenges to effectively fight against throat or mouth infections.

It is imperative to note that Strefen lozenges should not be consumed by individuals who have previously experienced an allergic reaction to aspirin or any other NSAIDs. Additionally, asthmatic individuals who have not been exposed to anti-inflammatories before should avoid the usage of these lozenges, as they can potentially worsen an acute asthmatic attack. Strefen lozenges are not suitable for individuals under the age of 12. Moreover, individuals with stomach ulcers, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, liver failure, or heart failure should refrain from using these lozenges. If you are attempting to conceive or are already pregnant, it is advisable to consult your doctor before using Strefen lozenges. However, it is important to note that contraindication is only applicable during the third trimester of pregnancy.

Individuals who have previously experienced an allergic reaction to aspirin or other NSAIDs are equally susceptible to a reaction from Strefen lozenges. Uncommon side effects may include numbness and stinging sensations in the mouth and throat. In very rare cases, difficulty breathing, swelling, and itchy skin may occur. It is important to note that the occurrence of uncommon side effects is estimated to be around 1 in 1000, while the occurrence of very rare side effects is estimated to be around 1 in 10,000.
